Quote Summarizing your Review "Mouthful doesn't translate to a stomach full"
Review Situated in downtown Mountain View, the location is great for happy hours after work or even the Saturday dinner and dance evenings. They have a live performance on Saturday evenings for dinner which makes for great entertainment but if you're a foodie who likes to eat to his/her hearts' content, you might need to shell out a bit more than expected. The dishes at Cascal are unique in their own way. They have exciting garbanzo beans, Steamed Mussels, Beef Kabob, Spicy Moroccan style lamb meatballs and a variety of paellas. The dishes are flavorful but the portions just leave a lot to be desired. The Sizzling Shrimp is a few shrimp in an ocean of olive oil, making you wonder what's so unique about it. Its a good dish gone awry with dollops of oil thrown over a few pieces. The net result is a mouthful of cholestrol and yet a hungry stomach. Not every cuisine should be served in French proportions. Granted tapas are small but they should leave you with a mouthful of flavor. Additionally, if the dishes are not that filling, the portions should be adjusted accordingly. Its a nice date spot if you want a light and fun evening on a Saturday evening but its definitely not a group place even though they manage groups reasonably well. I'll go there again when I've gone down my list of Mountain View eateries and these are not arranged in alphabetical order.
