ITK (In The Kitchen) Culinary, in Sausalito, not only offers cooking classes, seminars, and diverse food related events for adults but also, offers a variety of amazing children's classes and programs. "By teaching children how to cook for themselves, they are less likely to eat fast or junk food. Our goal is to empower children with confidence and competence in the kitchen."
Explains Chef Scott Davis, The Culinary Dude, instructor and creator of ITK's children's Summer Cooking Camp, Kids Sunday Cooking Classes and monthly Parent and Child Cooking Classes.
Davis, who has both a degree in Early Childhood Education and a Culinary Arts degree from Le Cordon Bleu at CCA, goes on to say, "these classes are presented in a non threatening, pressure less environment. I teach to the children and not at them", which is what Davis, attributes his success and repeated clientele to.
All of the children's programs accommodate ages 4 to 14, "the age range is not a factor when all participants are working towards the same goal. Everyone will be learning the same things as well as performing tasks to achieve the goal. Sometimes the older children offer help to the younger ones, but in no way does this inhibit the process of learning for either child," says Davis.
ITK also offers both adult and kids Cooking Birthday Parties or just parties for of all ages, which can be as simple as pizza parties to ITK's version of Iron Chef Competitions.
