Golden Gate has numerous hidden treasures amongst its 1,017 acres, but one of the most romantic and enjoyable is Stow Lake where you can rent rowboats and paddle boats (415.752.0347) or enjoy a hike up to the Strawberry Peak on the top of the island in the middle of the lake. The walk around the lake is almost exactly a mile so this is a good place to get a workout too.
